Health Department unveiling free iPhone application that allows New Yorkers to find free condoms
“We are trying to reach everyone having sex,” said Monica Sweeney, the agency’s point person for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control. “The younger generation uses their iPhone and we want to make it convenient for them to access condoms.”

Social Media Helps Drive New AIDS Awareness Campaign
The social media campaign created by the National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS (NBLCA) is actually a facebook forum where people can share their stories. I wonder how they are driving traffic to the forum, both in terms of folks who are positive who will share their stories and those who are not who will utilize it as prevention messaging as well as those who are positive and seeking support or treatment information. The New York City Council, together with HIV/AIDS organizations across the five boroughs, has launched a YouTube-based HIV/AIDS awareness campaign that began on World AIDS Day, December 1st, 2009.
